Similar to how most young professionals meet nowadays, our team originally met online (Discord and Twitter).
While hacking away together at web3 hackathons, our founding team became fascinated with DAOs. We believe that DAOs have the potential to revolutionize human coordination.
DAOs allow individuals across the world to collaborate, allocate capital, and make decisions towards a common goal. It gives access for anyone to capture direct value from what they create, and helps align incentives across millions, if not billions, of people.
Our vision is to build the infrastructure to scale DAO’s and crypto native internet organizations. And we're backed by top Crypto investors like Kindred Ventures, Coinbase, Gusto and many DAOs/DAO operators to bring this vision to fruition.

As a founding engineer with Utopia, you will help build + layout our engineering foundation and craft our product backbone. If you're interested in championing technological leadership in the web3 space, we'd love for you to apply!


    • Participate in the initial scoping of product requirements for new features and products
    • Developing products from designs and specifications to live deployments.
    • Build out new features and products with the product team.
    • Help address customer feature requests
    • Build out prospective integrations with partners and protocols
    • Create trustworthy user experiences by building interfaces that are simple, easy to comprehend, performant and reliable using modern tools like React, Typescript, and GraphQL


    • Experience with Javascript + front-end frameworks such as Javascript, Typescript, NodeJS, Express, NextJS, or similar.
    • 3+ years development experience using NodeJS, Express, NextJS, or similar
    • Understanding of GraphQL
    • Solid experience architecting solutions (experience in different architecture layers and components) through multiple frameworks
    • Proficiency with Git
    • A good understanding of CI/CD
    • Experience developing with a test-driven mentality

Nice to have

    • Hackathon experience or competitive programming
    • Experience contributing to open-source projects
    • 1-3+ years full-time software engineering experience
    • Experience contributing to open-source projects
    • Experience writing smart contracts or building
    • Demonstrated interest in open and community-driven platforms.
