Job summary
Amazon Cognito powers authentication and authorization for numerous applications on the internet. We provide no-code hosted user flows like registration, sign-in, account recovery etc for end users. Customers can personalize these flows and add their own branding. We are identity standards compliant allowing customers to easily integrate with partners.

We also provide administrators ability to manage Cognito resources through the Cognito management console. Customers use the console as their introduction to all the Cognito services like Cognito Identity Pools, Cognito User Pools and Cognito Hosted UI. Our mission is to create simple user interfaces for users which provide developers the security they need to protect their data and resources.

Key job responsibilities
We are looking for a Front End Engineer for the team which owns the end user experience for Amazon Cognito. You will own the front end technology powering Cognito Hosted UI and Cognito management console. You will deliver browser based experiences which solve complex user problems in a simple manner. You will be architecting the systems for many user personas as well as different scales. You will work with product managers, UX designers to deliver a consistent customer experience to all AWS customers.

We need technical, detail-focused engineers who can delight end users with simplified experiences at the same time provide best in class security for application owners. Our services operate at large scale and on critical workloads, so a passion and discipline around operational excellence is key.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

 

  • Established skill designing and developing simple solutions for complex user interactions.
  • Development expertise in OOP, Java, JavaScript, Web services, Scripting languages, and modern MVC/MVM Frameworks (React.JS).
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to present complex technical information in a clear and concise manner to a variety of audiences
  • Experience running and maintaining a 24x7 Internet-scale production environment
  • Expertise in specifying, designing, and/or implementing system health, performance monitoring tools, and software management tools for 24x7 environments
  • Experience in diving deep into telemetry, metrics and usage data with help of data analytics tools
  • Ability to instrument and use data to justify your insights and improve user experience
  • B.S. in Computer Science/Engineering or equivalent experience
  • 2 years experience in full stack engineering

 

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

 

  • Experience in Identity Standards like OAuth 2.0, OIDC.
  • Experience with user flows like registration, authentication and account recovery.
  • Experience working with User Experience Designers and Researchers
  • Genuinely excited about technology, have a strong interest in learning about and playing with the latest technologies and building compelling web applications and UI.

The pay range for this position in Colorado is $143,700-194,400/ yr; however, base pay offered may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. A sign-on bonus and restricted stock units may be provided as part of the compensation package, in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits, dependent on the position offered. The pay range for this position in Jersey City is $143,700-194,400/ yr; however, base pay offered may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.
